A recent report brought out by Forbes sheds light on a possibility from earlier iPad rumors. This refers to the possible launching of a low costing iPad, before the iPad 3 is released. This new report talks about a new iPad mini being launched early in 2012, but this does not rule out the release of the iPad 3.

If this iPad mini rumor is in-fact true, however, the release of the iPad 3 could be delayed till the second quarter of next year, as indicated by other recent rumors. The iPad Mini is anticipated to come out next March, however specifications about the form of presentation being made are not yet available.

iPad 3 Rumors: iPad 3 Production To Begin In January

Digitimes reports that the suppliers of Apple have received over 3 million panel orders for the iPad 3.

One million panels have already been shipped, and the suppliers will likely ship a further 2 million panels in the month of November.

Digitime’s sources also added that Apple is anticipated to begin the production of iPad 3 in the month of January.

Apple is reported planning to try out 7.85” screens. It is not yet clear on whether Apple will be producing a smaller iPad around this time.

With fans captivated with the addition of Siri on the iPhone 4S, they are starting to wonder if the iPad 3 will be feature the voice commanded Siri as well. Apple has done many tests behind the scenes to see if the iPhone 4 would run the software and indeed it did.

Just don’t expect Apple to be releasing Siri for consumer use on older devices. Offering the integrated program on only new iOS devices means that Apple can make more sales on their upcoming releases; and who can blame them?

While DigiTimes may not be the best resource, it’s still very interesting to hear some iPad rumors with sources expressing iPad 3 production is close to starting very shortly. This is evidence by Apple slowing down on iPad 2 orders.

Via Macrumors: “Apple has pulled back on its fourth-quarter orders for iPad 2 display panels, although the reduction appears to be part of an overall strategy to prepare for the launch of the iPad 3 early next year rather than a shortfall in customer demand.”
