As rumors have started to heat up around Apple’s next tablet, Taiwanese news site DigiTimes has consistently argued that Apple would be releasing not one, but two iPads in 2012. Today they are offering release dates for these alleged devices, apparently dubbed the iPad 3 and the iPad 4.

According to the rumor, the iPad 3 will be released in March with an improved display and a better battery, though otherwise the iPad 3 will be rather less miraculous than most Apple fans are anticipating. Digitimes was one of the first to suggest that the iPad 3 would be released in January. A recent iPad 3 rumor suggests Apple may be looking to release the next-generation iPad on Steve Jobs’ birthday, which is on February 24th.

The rumor comes from a report submitted Friday, Dec 23, by Focus Taiwan, which cited the Economic Daily News as reporting that Apple’s rumored iPad 3 will hit shelves to mark the birthday of the late Jobs. The detail apparently comes from sources in the iPad supply chain in Taiwan.

Component suppliers for the iPad 3 will reportedly need to continue working during the Lunar New Year holiday to meet Apple’s approaching deadline. The iPad 3 is anticipated to release 4 million units up its’ launch.

iPad 3 Rumors: iPad 3 Production In Motion

The iPad 3, one of the most talked about devices for 2012, is underway with new reports indicating that production has been pushed forward ahead of the Chinese New Year, Computer World reports.

Although Apple has made no official announcement or confirmation about the tablet’s release date; rumors, reports, insiders and tech blogs all suggest the iPad 3 will launch in March 2012.

The initial production of the iPad 3 is expected to be around 1-1.5 million units, according to a report obtained by the Daily Mail. While the next-generation Apple tablet will be competing with other android based devices such as Amazon’s Kindle Fire, a survey carried out by Forbes indicates that Apple will still be dominant with its’ new tablet.
